Grants & Entitlements

Grants & Entitlements Ireland

Irish supports are worth thousands to the households that claim them and are routinely missed by households that qualify, mostly because each one lives on a different website with different rules. Answer a few questions once and see which are worth checking, why, what would rule you out, and where the official rule is.

Grants & Entitlements in Ireland โ€” what to know

Irish supports are spread across SEAI, Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, local authorities, SUSI and the Local Enterprise Offices โ€” each with its own rules and website. Households that qualify routinely miss them.

Start with the finder

The Grants & Entitlements Finder screens around twenty supports against your answers and tells you why each appears and what could rule you out. Then use the specific calculators โ€” Help to Buy, childcare subsidy, solar grant, Rent Tax Credit โ€” to work out the amount.

Common questions

What grants can I get in Ireland?

It depends on your home, work, family and income. The Grants & Entitlements Finder asks a few questions and lists the supports worth checking, with the official source for each.

Can I get an SEAI grant if I rent?

Generally no โ€” SEAI home energy grants go to the owner, including landlords. Renters may instead qualify for the Rent Tax Credit or HAP.

Are grants taxable?

SEAI grants, Help to Buy and Child Benefit are not taxable income. Some social welfare payments, such as Maternity Benefit and the State Pension, are taxable. Check the source for each.

Type the question rather than the tool name โ€” the search matches on what each tool answers.
