What this means

This is a screen, not an assessment. It uses fixed rules on your answers — no scoring, no AI — and it deliberately errs towards showing a support you should check rather than hiding one you might qualify for.

Amounts are shown only where one published figure exists, with the year it applies to. Means-tested payments depend on your income and are worked out properly in the linked tools or by the Department of Social Protection.

Important assumptions

Every figure on this page rests on these. Where one does not match your situation, the answer moves — sometimes a great deal.

  • Residence conditions are assumed to be met. Most supports require habitual residence in Ireland.
  • Means tests, PRSI contribution records and county price ceilings are not assessed — they are listed as things that could rule you out.
  • Rates change each Budget. Each amount carries the year it applies to; the linked official source is authoritative.

Official sources

Where this tool applies a published rule, this is where the rule comes from. Check the source before acting on anything that matters.

Common questions

Why does it not say “you are entitled”?

Because almost every Irish support has a test this page cannot run — a means test, a PRSI record, a property ceiling. Saying “entitled” would be a guess presented as a fact.

Is my information stored?

No. The rules run in your browser and nothing you answer is sent anywhere.
