🤝 Job Offer Comparison

Should I take this job?

A €7,000 raise can be worth €3,500 after tax — and less than nothing once five days in the office and a longer commute are paid for. This compares two jobs on what you actually keep and the hours they actually take.

Important assumptions

Every figure on this page rests on these. Where one does not match your situation, the answer moves — sometimes a great deal.

  • Tax uses the same engine as the take-home pay calculator: single person, PAYE, standard credits, current Irish rates.
  • Working days are 52 weeks × 5, minus 10 public holidays and your annual leave.
  • Employer pension is valued at face value; it is not taxed when paid in.
  • Bonus is treated as certain and taxed as salary. If it is discretionary, try it at zero.
  • Benefits should be entered at what they would cost you to buy, after any benefit-in-kind tax.
